Facelift

Facelift

Modern life can be tiring, and very often the exhaustion is all too apparent in our faces. Age, stress, and lifestyle realities have all left their marks upon our visage, and the Renaissance Center in Bellevue is here to help you present a brighter, more awake face to the world. This procedure corrects the signs of aging and gravity, producing a more rested and rejuvenated appearance.

What is a Facelift?

A facelift—or rhytidectomy—is a surgical procedure that improves the visible signs of aging in the face and neck, including:
  • Sagging skin
  • Deep creases below the lower eyelids
  • Deep creases along the nose extending to the corner of the mouth
  • Fat that has fallen or has disappeared
  • Loss of skin tone in the lower face that creates jowls
  • Loose skin and excess fatty deposits under the chin and jaw, which can give even a person of normal weight the appearance of a double chin

The loss of youthful contours in the face can be due to a variety of factors, including heredity, gravity, environmental conditions, and stress.

The rejuvenation procedures typically performed in conjunction with a facelift are a brow lift to correct a sagging or deeply furrowed brow, and eyelid surgery to rejuvenate aging eyes.

As a restorative surgery, a facelift does not change your fundamental appearance and cannot stop the aging process.

A facelift can only be performed surgically; non-surgical rejuvenation treatments cannot achieve the same results, but may help delay the time at which a facelift becomes appropriate and complement the results of surgery.

Neck Lift

Neck Lift

Even though we may still feel youthful, the neck can sometimes give away our age with the appearance of loose, sagging skin. Let Dr. Nygaard help you feel rejuvenated with a neck lift procedure to diminish the excess skin around your neck. What is a Neck Lift? A neck lift—or lower rhytidectomy—is a surgical procedure that improves visible signs of aging in the jawline and neck, including: Excess fat and skin relaxation in the lower face that creates jowls Excess fatty deposits under the chin Loose neck skin Muscle banding in the neck, which creates abnormal contours The loss of youthful contours in the face and neck can be due to a variety of factors, including heredity, gravity, environmental conditions, and stress. Some people feel they are not ready for a full facelift because the upper face is still pleasing. However, many patients will note excess wrinkling of the neck skin—a “turkey wattle”—or double chin, and jowl lines. When the neck area doesn’t match the upper facial appearance, a neck lift may be a good solution. Rejuvenation procedures that can be performed in conjunction with a neck lift are a brow lift, to correct a sagging or deeply furrowed brow; fat transfer, to add fullness to the lips and cheeks and reduce the appearance of wrinkles; or eyelid surgery, to rejuvenate aging eyes. As a restorative surgery, a neck lift does not change your fundamental appearance and cannot stop the aging process.

Eyelids

Eyelids

Our eyes are the windows to the world, and Dr. Nygaard wants you to be able proudly show the brightest eyes possible, to that world. At the Renaissance Center, we will restructure drooping eyelids—upper or lower—and help your eyes shine brightly, as they once did. What is Eyelid Surgery? Eyelid surgery—or blepharoplasty—is a surgical procedure to improve the appearance of fatigue, due to drooping skin of the upper eyelids or puffy bags beneath the eyes. Surgery can be performed on either the upper or lower lids, or both. Whether you want to improve your appearance or are experiencing functional problems with your eyelids, eyelid surgery can rejuvenate the area surrounding your eyes. Specifically, eyelid surgery can treat: Loose or sagging skin that creates folds or disturbs the natural contour of the upper eyelid, which sometimes impairs vision Excess fatty deposits that appear as puffiness in the eyelids Bags under the eyes Drooping lower eyelids that reveal white below the iris Excess skin and fine wrinkles of the lower eyelid.

Breast Reconstruction

Breast Reconstruction

Breast reconstruction can help restore your confidence following difficult surgeries that have taken away our femininity regarding the female breast. Dr. Nygaard is confident in her ability to help give you back your self-image, and restore your breasts to a more natural appearance. What is Breast Reconstruction? Breast reconstruction is achieved through several plastic surgery techniques that attempt to restore the breasts to a near normal shape, appearance, and size following a difficult breast surgery, such as mastectomy. Although breast reconstruction can rebuild your breast area, the results are highly variable, so keep in mind that: A reconstructed breast will not have the same sensation and feel as the breast it replaces Visible incision lines will always be present on the breast, whether from reconstruction or mastectomy Certain surgical techniques will leave incision lines at the donor site, commonly located in less exposed areas of the body, such as the back, abdomen, or buttocks A note about symmetry: if only one breast is affected, it alone may be reconstructed. In addition, a breast lift, breast reduction, or breast augmentation may be recommended for the opposite breast to improve symmetry of the size and position of both breasts.

Breast Augmentation

Breast Augmentation

Dr. Nygaard understands that breasts are a fundamental aspect of femininity. Motherhood or medical issues may affect breast symmetry, which augmentation can remedy. Also, disproportionate or asymmetrical breasts may cause a woman to suffer from a lack of self-confidence and we at the Renaissance Center believe that no woman should suffer a lack of confidence through poor body image. Let our center give you the shape and symmetry you desire with FDA-approved breast implants. Breast augmentation can restore breast volume loss after having children or losing weight. This procedure allows women the option of a more balanced figure. What is Breast Augmentation Surgery? Breast augmentation is clinically referred to as augmentation mammoplasty and involves using breast implants or fat—referred to as fat transfer breast augmentation—to increase the size of your breasts or restore breast volume that has been lost after weight loss or pregnancy. Breast augmentation can: Increase fullness and projection of your breasts Improve the balance of your figure Enhance your self-image and self-confidence Breast implants may also be used for breast reconstruction after mastectomy or injury. Breast augmentation does not correct severely drooping breasts. If you want your breasts to look fuller and to be lifted due to sagging, a breast lift may be required in conjunction with breast augmentation. Breast lifting can often be done at the same time as your augmentation or may require a separate operation. Your plastic surgeon will assist you in making this decision.

Breast Lift

Breast Lift

Through time, weight loss, or childbirth, patients often find that their breasts are sagging and—particularly after childbirth—have lost volume. The Renaissance Center can help you turn back the clock and reclaim more youthful, rounded breasts. A breast lift—also known as Mastopexy—helps helps achieve more youthful looking breasts by removal of excess skin and the reshaping of the breasts. What is Breast Lift Surgery? A breast lift raises the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the new breast contour. In addition, the areola can become enlarged over time and can also be addressed during a breast lift. New statistics from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons show the frequency of breast lift surgeries has grown 70% since 2000, outpacing breast implants 2-to-1. A lift can rejuvenate your figure with a breast profile that is more youthful and uplifted. Keep in mind, a breast lift is different from a breast augmentation, as a lift does not significantly change the size of your breasts or round out the upper part of your breast.

Breast Reduction

Breast Reduction

Excessively large breasts can fundamentally and physically affect a woman’s daily routine. For some, the problems may be psychological, such as feeling ashamed or out of proportion. For others, health issues—such as neck and back pain, scarring, or the inability to engage in certain sports or wear certain clothing—are important factors. Dr. Nygaard wants to help you achieve the harmony of form you desire, resulting in more confidence in both your silhouette, and the physical possibilities that a breast reduction will bring to you.

Tummy Tuck

Tummy Tuck

With time and other factors, such as weight or pregnancy, the shape of our body changes. Dr. Nygaard wants to help rid you of those stretch marks, excess skin, and stubborn fat that keep you from wearing that bikini or midriff workout gear resting in your closet. The Renaissance Center in Bellevue wants to turn the clock back and give you the tummy of a young woman again. This procedure removes excess fat and skin, and often includes the restoration of weakened or separated muscles. The results of this procedure create a smoother and firmer abdominal profile. What is a Tummy Tuck? Tummy tuck surgery—also known as abdominoplasty—removes excess fat and skin and, in most cases, restores weakened or separated muscles, which creates an abdominal profile that is smoother and firmer. A flat and well-toned abdomen is something many of us strive for through exercise and weight control, but sometimes these methods cannot achieve our goals. Even individuals of otherwise normal body weight and proportion can develop an abdomen that protrudes or is loose and sagging. Although the results are technically permanent, the positive outcomes can be greatly diminished by significant fluctuations in your weight. For this reason, individuals who are planning substantial weight loss or women who may be considering future pregnancies are advised to postpone getting a tummy tuck. A tummy tuck is not a substitute for weight loss or an appropriate exercise program. A tummy tuck cannot correct stretch marks, although these may be removed or somewhat improved, if they are located on the areas of excess skin that will be removed.

Arm Lift

Arm Lift

Why limit yourself to three-quarter length sleeves? Let Dr. Nygaard help you firm and tighten sagging arms to give you the smoother, younger arm silhouette that will give you the confidence to go sleeveless again. What is an Arm Lift? An arm lift, or brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure that reduces excess sagging skin that droops downward. It also tightens and smoothens the underlying supportive tissue that defines the shape of the upper arm, and reduces localized pockets of fat. Fluctuations in weight, growing older, and heredity can cause your upper arms to have a drooping, sagging appearance. This condition cannot be corrected through exercise. Arm lift surgery may be right for you if the underside of your upper arms are sagging, or appear loose and full due to excess skin and fat.

Thigh Lift

Thigh Lift

Why limit yourself to long pants throughout the year and always having to hide your legs? Here at Renaissance Center, Dr. Nygaard will help you achieve the appearance of more youthful looking legs, giving you more confidence throughout the entire year. What is a Thigh Lift? Thigh lift surgery reshapes the thighs by reducing excess skin and fat, resulting in smoother skin and better-proportioned contours of the thighs and lower body. If fitness and weight loss efforts have not achieved your goals for a body that is firmer, more youthful-looking, and more proportionate to your overall body image, a surgical lift may be right for you. Thigh lifts are not strictly for the removal of excess fat. Liposuction alone can remove excess fat where skin has good elasticity and is able to conform naturally to new body contours. The thigh lift focuses on the removal of excess skin. In cases where skin elasticity is poor, a combination of liposuction and thigh lift techniques may be recommended.

Body Contouring

Body Contouring

Sometimes after major weight loss, the body can be left with excessive amounts of loose skin, taking away the confidence one should feel after significant weight loss. Let Dr. Nygaard contour your body, to give you the physical appearance and confidence you desire. What is Body Contouring? Surgical body contouring following major weight loss removes excess sagging fat and skin while improving the shape of the underlying support tissue. The result is a more normal appearance with smoother contours. Dramatic weight loss has many benefits. But afterwards the skin and tissues often lack the elasticity to conform to the reduced body size. Which is where we come in. Body contouring procedures may include: Facelift: sagging of the mid-face, jowls, and neck Breast lift: sagging, flattened breasts Tummy tuck: apron of excess skin hanging over the abdomen Lower body lifts: sagging of the abdomen, buttocks, groin and outer thighs Medial thigh lift: sagging of the inner, outer, and mid-thigh Arm lift: sagging of the upper arms.

Liposuction

Liposuction

Renaissance Center sees the beauty beneath your body that is waiting to be revealed. While diet and exercise will always be partners in helping us achieve your desired look, fat can be a stubborn enemy. Let Dr. Nygaard help you realize your vision by removing excess fat, toning your silhouette, and, like a sculptor, revealing the beauty beneath. What is Liposuction? Liposuction—sometimes referred to as “lipo” by patients—slims and reshapes specific areas of the body by removing excess fat deposits and improving your body contours and proportion. Liposuction is used to reduce localized fat deposits on the body, and can be performed alone or along with other plastic surgery procedures, such as a facelift, breast reduction, or tummy tuck. Liposuction not an effective treatment for cellulite – the dimpled skin that typically appears on the thighs, hips, and buttocks – or loose saggy skin. It is also not considered treatment for obesity or a substitute for proper diet and exercise.
